The promoters of Michael Jackson’s This Is It concerts have basically turned into market traders overnight! Displaying a huge sign outside thre O2 Arena stating that at this time their thoughts are with Michael’s family, friends and fans, AEG Live forgot to mention they were also thinking about their own financial situation!
Having sold 800,000 tickets to the King of Pop’s ill fated sell out concerts netting themselves millions, of which they have already spent millions, have now shown ‘they’re all heart‘, when it comes to refunding the grieving fans of their hard earned money.

Would Michael have stuck 2 fingers up at the offer?
Today, the AEG who sponsored the O2 Arena concerts, have come up with a novel idea for not having to part with the money they now have firmly within their grasp…………..fans get to keep the ticket!
As Randy Phillips, the company’s president tries to appear sympathetic towards the fans he explained he was keen to make sure people were treated fairly after missing out on the chance to see Michael, saying, (we’re sure with a tear in his eye!) “The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death.”
So, the bottom line is, if Michael had lived to perform, fans would have got to see their hero and kept the original ticket, now, since his untimely death they get to keep just the hologram ticket as, what AEG are touting as, a piece of, ‘highly-sought after piece of music memorabilia‘.

Knowing how devoted Jackson’s fans are the AEG cunningly printed exclusive tickets, which feature a holographic, 3D image of Jackson in one of his iconic, dancing poses. Eight different versions are understood to have been printed and AEG Live say they have been inundated with requests from fans who are eager to keep a piece of paper in place of what should have been a 3 hour extravaganza or their money back.
Not only have the company revealed they will send the ‘original‘ ticket that each fan would have received anyway, they are also making a service charge on the exchange. Grief effects people in different ways, clearly it has caused AEG Live to become delirious with the anticipation of bankruptcy!
But as CNN reported live from the streets of London, it certainly didn’t appear that fans were being sold the ‘bill of goods’ on offer by AEG Live, and most say they have enough memorabilia of their icon and the memory of seeing Jackson would have been worth far more than the innovative scheme which looks as though it may just die a death along with Michael Jackson.
