The Spice Girls Comeback As The Beckhams Are Blown Off!

England’s ace footballer David Beckham, may have had cause for celebration last night following their 3-0 win over Belarus, but there’s little room for merrymaking in other areas of beck’s life as he was voted one of America’s biggest sporting flops by U.S. based Maxim magazine. The publication described his £125 million move to Los Angeles as nothing short of a ‘catastrophe’. Not content to call him a ‘flop’ and ‘catastrophe’, the magazine went on to say that the former Manchester United star has failed miserably in his bid to make football more attractive to fans across the Atlantic.

That, added to Golden Balls being dropped from Georgia Armani’s ad campaign and being replaced by the younger Brazilian soccer stud, Cristiano Ronaldo, it must have been one of the worst weeks for the 33 year old Becks.

But he’s not alone in being dropped by Armani, 34 year old Mrs Beckham has also been replaced on those massive billboards that stare down on us all from exciting destinations such as Times Square, New York, by Megan Fox, 23.

So does their sudden demise and de-crowning as the world’s number one celebrity pair have a direct correlation with Posh Spice once again teaming up with the other four Spice Girls for yet another reunion?

Following Posh, Ginger, Scary, Baby and Sporty’s world tour in 2007, which netted them a staggering £16.5million, rumours are flying that the five Brits are set to resurrect themselves in some form or another.

Melanie Brown, Scary Spice, said at the 02 Palm Pre launch this week, ‘The Spice Girls are definitely doing something together. We’ve all been instructed not to say anything about it at all, but we speak all the time and we’ll be doing something together soon.’

But further rumours have been doing the rounds which may be more believable than another world tour, and they are that the five piece are collaborating on a stage show musical, showcasing the story of their success.

British newspaper the Daily Mirror reports the idea is for five relatively unknown actresses to take the parts with the original band members each having a say in who is cast.

If this production goes ahead, all we can hope is that it has a better pull than the girl’s attempts at thier movie back in 1997 when they starred in the less than entertaining and bigger ‘flop’ than Becks, Spice World movie!
