The Rolling Stones did, Take That did it, even New Kids on the Block did it (sounds like a song, doesn’t it?) but the next line isn’t, anything to do with falling in love.

No, its reuniting after many years of being apart and discovering that on their own, they cant make the grade but together, they’re the cats whiskers!

But apparently, that is not a theory applicable to Rod Stewart since his split from the Faces back in 1975. Rod Stewart carved out his own very successful career both as a rocker and more lately as a swing singer with the release of his album Stardust… The Great American Songbook III, 25 years later.

So when the rumours reached the 69 year old, Do You Think I’m Sexy singer, that he was about to go on tour with his old mate, Ronnie Wood once again as The Faces, Rod wanted to dispel all the blogs, news articles and rumours before they got out of hand.

The U.K. tabloid The Daily Mirror quoted guitarist Ronnie Wood this week saying that he and Stewart recorded an album’s worth of materials during the Christmas holiday. He also added that the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea would be joining them as the late Ronnie Lane’s replacement.

But that hasn’t stopped the rumours being totally squashed by Stewart’s spokesman and a recent report in the New York Post suggesting that the members didn’t get along during the process of making the album and that a tour seemed unlikely.

Stewart did however commit to one contract when the legendary rocker entered into holy matrimony with Penny Lancaster as the couple married at sunset on Saturday, June 16 2007 in a cloistered medieval abbey at La Cervara near Portofino, Italy.
