Yesterday saw California’s top court backing, what had been democratically voted on by the people in November 2008, and, in it’s infinite wisdom in a ‘democratic society‘, banned gay marriage.

That’s democracy at work! But democracy at work isn’t acceptable to wanna be celebrities like Perez Hilton, when it doesn’t tally with just what the obnoxious little blogger is striving for, legalized same sex marriage.

DREW BARRYMORE.jpg

So Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Kathy Gifford, George Takei and N’Sync’s Lance Bass, among many other celebs, took to the streets outside the Supreme Court in San Francisco to protest the verdict which was decided by Supreme Court judges who voted by a six-to-one majority to endorse the result of November’s vote in favour of a law defining marriage as being only ‘between a man and a woman’. The Supreme Court justices maintained that the will of the people as expressed by the referendum is sacrosanct in the state.

But hope and encouragement was quickly offered with the support and outspoken views of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican, who has said he believes, “that one day either the people or courts will recognize gay marriage,’ the debate and demand for acceptance will continue.

GEORGE TAKEI.jpg

Just last year, when a May 2008 ruling by the California Supreme Court had made it constitutional for same-sex couples to get hitched in the state, talk show host Ellen Degeneres and actress Portia de Rossi and Star trek’s George Takei, jumped into make their marriages legal Court before the courts had a chance to uphold Proposition 8, which since the elections in November 2008, bans gay marriage in the state.

Now, here at Yuddy we are not against gay marriage, along with the other five states, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine and Iowa who have already legalized same-sex unions, with us, its fine, each to their own!

But looking at the face of an unhinged, ranting Perez Hilton does bring to the fore another controversial subject, abortion!

Now there’s a face that gives a good argument for abortion if ever there was one!
