Why would a self proclaimed lesbian take up residence in a strict Islamic country when their laws prohibit lesbianism?

Well, we never have understood the inner workings of Lindsay Lohan so looking for an answer to that question is futile.

Armed with the knowledge that lesbians are frowned upon in the United Arab Emirates and that in August a female couple were put in jail for two months for just having a snog on the beach, one would have thought that Samantha Ronson and new found love, Lohan would have avoided Dubai like the plague!

But that doesn’t seem to be a deterrent to the happy couple as they go house hunting in the Palm Island development in the celebrity haven of Dubai. The couple became mesmerized with the glamour and glitz of the area when Sam performed as DJ at the opening of the super luxurious Atlantis hotel which attracted stars such as Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro, Gerard Butler, Janet Jackson, Lily Allen and Michael Jordan.

Dubai may appear on the surface to be a Utopia with its strategy is to lure celebrities like David Beckham and Tiger Woods there to give it the air of Hollywood glamour, but the reality is far from that. Donald Trump is going to build a hotel, Giorgio Armani will outfit apartments, while Karl Lagerfeld will build luxury homes. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are rumored to have bought one of the artificial islands Dubai is constructing out into Gulf waters.

But with such a strict Islamic culture and Muslim religion it wont be long before some unsuspecting celebrity is calling on the US Embassy from the depths of some dingy prison cell in the hope of obtaining a pardon from Dubai’s Royal Family.
