Although he has mastered everything from a Christmas-loathing Grinch to a split-personality police officer, Mr. Jim Carrey has yet to portray a homosexual con artist…that is, until now.

The eclectic megastar - who only recently wrapped Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! - is joining forces with  Rodrigo Santoro and Scottish thespian Ewan McGregor to produce the satiric comedy I Love You Phillip Morris.

The film centers around a charlatan by the name of Steven Russell (Carrey) who finally gets nabbed by the law and ends up in the slammer where he falls for his handsome cellmate, Phillip Morris (McGregor.)

When the object of Steven’s affection is released from jail, he tries every trick in the book to free himself in order to meet back up with the love of his life. Russell attempts to break out a total of four times which unfortunately grants him 144 more years behind bars.

The plot is based on actual events and was written by the guys who brought you Bad Santa; so expect a stream of off-color jokes that will tickle you silly!

According to The Daily Mail, to prepare for their unconventional roles the actors decided hit up a gay pub together - on ‘Martini Tuesday’ no less.

“Jim and Ewan looked like they were having a great time,” an onlooker at Miami’s Halo bar commented. “They were laughing and joking and looked as though they were really trying to get into character.”

Can’t you just picture Carrey prancing around with a neon drink flashing one of his world-famous grins?

Sounds like a party!
