She may have managed to infiltrate the world of country music (vaguely) with her Daisy Duke shorts, her Stetson, acoustic guitar and barn dance moves, but there’s one place Jessica Simpson couldn’t get herself into, the CMA Awards.
The Country Music Awards were held on Wednesday this week in Nashville with a cacophony of actors, actresses and songbirds all who have an association with country music but nowhere to be seen on the A-List, was the name of Jessica Simpson.

So was Jess actually snubbed by the CMA organizers or was there truly, as they stated, no room for her at the dinner table?
After the 28 year old Come On Over singer had reportedly asked to perform at the ceremony, it came as a shock to her that Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Lil’ Wayne were all in attendance, but her offer to strum and sing had been dismissed by the organizers.
The reason behind the decision may have nothing to do with lack of space at the dinner table, Jess would have perched her rear on the end of a table just for a spot on stage, but it was probably her relationship with Dallas quarterback, Tony Romo, that really determined the final decision. And why? Because he used to be the love of Carrie Underwood’s life before dumping her for Simpson.
As Carrie was the presenter of the awards it seems that her attitude was, ‘it’s my bat and ball and I’m going home’, if that blonde bimbo is invited and the organizers took the view that Underwood was a better bet than Simpson.
So there it is in a nutshell Jess, you can’t have someone else’s boyfriend and eat your cake at the dining table of CMA Awards.
