Stephen Colbert Uses Spidey Sense to Run for President

Posted under Free for All & Stephen Colbert

Wait. Didn’t he already do this? The host of Comedy Central’s Colbert Report attempted to get on both the Democratic and Republican presidential primary ballots in his home state of South Carolina, and failed.

Instead his consolation prize will be to appear in the Spider-Man comic book as a major candidate on a make-believe ticket in Spider-Man’s world. It’s also fitting since Stephen Colbert recently had a species of spider named after him!

The issue of Marvel Comics’ “The Amazing Spider-Man” is out on Oct. 15th.

Charity and glamor co-exist for all. Yes, yes, it’s a bit of a utopian ideal, but Glamour magazine wanted to prove that it could be done. They hosted their 18th Annual Glamour Women of the Year awards recently, to celebrate women who have changed the world (and are of course, as gorgeous as they are charitable)!

The event brought out a number of living legends: Toni Morison won the Lifetime Achievement award, and 11 year old Abigail Breslin (from Little Miss Sunshine) was the magazine’s first-ever “Girl of the Year.”

Yes folks, a strike is amongst us… no, no, this has nothing to do with the war in Iraq or Presidential candidates… this has to do with the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) v. the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Let’s fill you in on the deets, shall we?

But first - the people behind The Office have this to say about the strike:

Basically of course it’s about money. In the olden days (about the time of the horse and carriage), everyone used to make a lot of money on reruns. But these days, reruns are read more ....
