Although comedian Jay Leno is notorious for cracking off-color jokes, this time he went a bit too far.

Last week during a taping of The Tonight Show actor Ryan Phillippe got caught between a rock and a hard place after telling the comedian about his first major acting role as a gay teen on One Life to Live.

Jay, clearly not aware of the possible repercussions of his little comment, asked Phillippe: “Can you give me your gayest look? Say that camera is Billy Bob…Billy Bob has just ridden in shirtless from Wyoming.”
