Rumer Willis’ golden globes will not be viewed by a television audience.

The 2008 Miss Golden Globes will still get to hand out the golden statuettes, but to an audience of no one and not televised. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association said Monday that the traditional Golden Globe Awards ceremony has been canceled and will be replaced with a news conference format.

The change of format came after striking writers threatened to picket the event, and the Screen Actors Guild forbid its members from crossing the picket line.
