National Treasure, Book of Secrets, Da Vinci Code, Indiana Jones, Valley of the Kings……..

Once again we find Nicolas Cage, in the role of Ben Gates, in hot pursuit of another lost, hidden, mislaid, whatever treasure, being led by clues steeped in wild conspiracies of US history.

With scenery that could so easily have been borrowed from every Indiana Jones movie, mechanically opening cupboards and doors that have been recycled from the screen set of the Da Vinci Code and golden caskets and staircases from Valley of the Kings, this could have been a fairly inexpensive movie to put together, all in all!

‘Atonement’

 Keira Knightley movie.jpg

The underlying theme of this 2007 movie resembles many other well respected love stories through the ages, in which the lead couple are deceptively kept apart by the interference of others, as in Anthony and Cleopatra starring real life love crossed partners, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Maria and Tony in the 1961 movie West Side Story.

A typically 1930’s style English movie where the audience is taken through one scenario only to realize that there is actually a hidden conclusion which eventually transpires.

The beautiful Keira Knightley who plays the very ‘stiff read more ....

Halle Berry looked absolutely flawless last night at London Film Festival premiere of Things We Lost in the Fire. Too bad her yummy man Gabriel Aubrey wasn’t with her to complete the picture… though actually, that might just have been too much hotness to handle!

Watch Out Big Brother!

Although Ben Affleck may have made a memorable move into the role of film director in his debut movie Gone Baby Gone, he has at the same time possibly relegated himself in the ‘heart throb’ stakes since placing his younger brother Casey in the lead role in the movie.

For anyone who has been a dedicated fan of Ben in his movie roles may now want to rethink their loyalties. Younger brother, Casey Affleck, who has been waiting patiently in the wings for his chance to shine like the brilliant star he is sure to become read more ....

TOM CRUISE IN GERMAN MOVIE.jpg

Another Win for Scientology

Tom Cruise and Hollywood have been fighting a three month battle to gain the consent of the German Government to film Cruise’s latest movie, Valkyrie, in Germany at the scene of the 1944 attempt on Adolph Hitler’s life with Cruise as the leading man.

The German Government has finally been convinced that allowing Hollywood to use Tom Cruise as the star of the movie would not be interpreted as desecration but would honour the memory of the men who almost killed Hitler in July 1944.

Surely this all begs the question, can’t Hollywood just make a read more ....

I Know Who Killed My Friday

Posted under movies & Lindsay Lohan

Cult Potential Gone Bad

The roaring laughter pouring out of movie theaters Friday night had nothing to do with the new Simpson’s Movie, the hilarious Knocked Up, or any other comedy for that matter. In fact they were rolling in the aisles of the new Lindsay Lohan film I Know Who Killed Me. For some reason I was disillusioned into believing that the new movie would be reminiscent of Poison Ivy or even Strip Tease - in other words a cult classic. But the sheer ridiculousness of the script was hard to escape

The blatantly obvious references to the killer did not make the read more ....
