Richard Branson Flys to Mia’s Side

As Mia Farrow’s blood sugar level dropped to under 40 and her muscles began to hurt Mia Farrow wrote on her blog on day 12, ‘I won’t be able to continue much longer.’

A short time later Mia, 64, wrote, ‘I have been instructed by my doctor to stop my fast immediately due to health concerns, including possible seizures. I am fortunate. The women, children, and men I am fasting for do not have that option.

Mia Farrow Struggles On!

Still pursuing her 21 day hunger strike for the cause of the starving victims of genocide in Darfur, Mia Farrow managed to appear very upbeat on Tuesday night on the Larry King Live show on CNN.

On the show she was joined by Sudanese refuge Mohammed Yahya who’s mother remains in the area and had just spoken to him by telephone telling him that the Government of Sudan continues to bomb villages, and the bombings are followed by janjaweed (the militia) attacks.

Mia Farrow Bravely Makes It To Day Six!

Mia Farrow has made it to day 6 of her hunger strike for the people of Darfur and her quest to bring them to the attention of the rest of the world.

On her blog, which she is writing on a daily basis, today Mia told her supporters,’ I find I am needing less sleep. Hunger and headaches have gone. I feel clear-minded and somewhat emotional. Also spiritual. Except for the visits with my family, there is nothing but my thoughts. I do have a TV in my room and sometimes I watch it but more and more I read more ....

Mia Farrow: Growing Weak But Still Fighting For Darfur

On the  4th day of her hunger strike Mia Farrow spoke to her supporters, as promised, via her video blog reporting to her viewing public that she felt fine, although she was evidently a little confused about the date.

Mia Farrow: Still Going Strong for Darfur

George Clooney Pays Tribute to Mia Farrow’s Fast

Helping to keep Mia Farrow’s hunger strike high profile and in the public eye over the next 15 days, fellow activist, George Clooney has paid tribute to 64 year old Farrow for her dedicated campaigning and constant highlighting of the plight of the people of Darfur.

Clooney said, “I ran into Mia in Chad this January. She’d been living in the camps and villages on the border of Darfur for weeks. She is as dedicated to this cause as any activist I know. It’s these kind of efforts that help keep this tragedy in the spotlight.”
