Of Course David Beckham had to be Part of the Olympics

We’ve seen David Beckham making appearances at different Olympic events, but we suppose it was only a matter of time before they brought him on to be an official part of the program. Not that we’re complaining - we’re happy to see his super-star self, whatever the reason!

But his participation did make sense, though, as the honor of hosting the summer Olylmpics was handed to London for the 2012 games.

He wasn’t on hand to do much more than put his soccer skills to use (oh yah, and no doubt be eye candy …) as he kicked the ball read more ....

Leon Jackson is Number 1 in The UK

This years UK X-Factor winner, Leon Jackson, who came out of nowhere, has completed an amazingly exciting year by holding off The Pogues, Girls Aloud and Eva Cassidy/Katie Melua by storming to the prestigious Christmas number one position in the UK charts with his re-working of the Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston duet ‘When You Believe’. The single sold more than 275,000 copies in its first seven days but its first week total is under half of that managed by Leona Lewis for ‘A Moment Like This’ in the same week of 2006.

Marring the excitement of having won the British television show X Factor is the news that a close school friend of Leona Lewis has been shot dead at point blank range.

Just as Leona was celebrating her huge chart success with her new single, Bleeding Love, and her album, Spirit, which is expected to be a massive Christmas hit, she received the news that Etem Celebi, 17, had been gunned down in Stoke Newington, London, on Wednesday night after being stopped by a group of youths who asked if he was from the area.
