Titanic and The Reader star, 33 year old Kate Winslet headed this year’s list of People magazine’s top 10 best dressed women in the world.

That’s great news for Kate, but not so good for Michelle Obama, 45, who came in around fifth place on the list, and for whom there will be no chance for another ignorant outburst by a fellow African American on stage as they grab the microphone from Kate and scream at the audience that Obama should have walked away with the award!

There can be no disagreement on the fact that Australia’s Hugh Jackman brought the 2009 Oscars out of the doldrums, the normally boring format and the repetitive entertainment value it has offered for so many years.

It was a normal London night for Kate Winslet, rain, dampness, chills and umbrellas but none of that could dampen the spirit of Titanic actress, Winslet as she edged closer to acquiring herself an Oscar.

Director John Turturro has come up with wacky ideas for films in the past, so we can just chalk this one up to “originality.“

Romance & Cigarettes is set to music by power icons such as James Brown and Bruce Springsteen, and stars some of the biggest names in Hollywood. The list includes Kate Winslet, Mary Louise Parker, James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, and Mandy Moore, just to name a few.
