For a family who spends so much time in a button-up city like Washington, D.C., Jenna Bush’s wedding was a welcome deviation from the norm. The first daughter wore an Oscar de la Renta gown as she exchanged vows with Henry Hager at the family ranch in Crawford, Texas on Saturday.

Her sister Barbara and the other bridesmaids wore Lela Rose creations specially designed and inspired by the wildflowers of the bride’s native state.

When George W Bush’s daughter made the decision to take her wedding vows at the President’s ranch in Crawford it was also decided that The Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell would preside over the ceremony.

Not such a big deal one would suppose! But look at the dear old Rev. a little closer and we find that he has actually endorsed Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Well, the United States may be nearing the end of an 8 year sentence under the Presidency of George W Bush but there’s one guy who is this weekend beginning a life sentence by marrying a member of the Bush family, Jenna Bush.

So, this weekend, where there’s a bright golden haze on the meadow, and the corn is as high as an elephants eye, Jenna , 26, and her fiancé, Henry Hager will stand before each other at 7.30pm and say their very private, ‘I Do’s’.
