He may not be a big-screen star but he made a name for himself writing classic, award-winning children’s books like “Where the Wild Things Are” (one of my childhood faves!), and this week Maurice Sendak celebrated his 80th birthday in true star style.
Fans and friends like Meryl Streep, James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener came as well-wishers, along with director Spike Jonze, who adapted “Wild Things” as a movie to be released in October 2009.
