Why are the TV and movie industries so retrospective these days? Is it because there is an election and we cant bare to look to the future and we find that the past represents a much happier time?

First we had the Sex and the City movie starring Sarah Jessica Parker, which, to be fair only harks back to between 5 -10 years.

Now we have the prospect of the Friends series being made into a big screen event, bringing together once again Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

Rather than kicking back after releasing the most sought-after film of the year, Sex and the City alumna Sarah Jessica Parker has decided to toss her name into the proverbial hat as a possible candidate for the upcoming dramedy, The Ivy Chronicles.

E! Online confirms that the mother-of-one is currently “in talks” to star in the tale concerning a single woman living in New York City; a character SJP has perfected over the years!

Hot on the tail of the success of the Sex and the City movie, Courtney Cox has announced that she too would like to see her trade mark series, Friends, turned into a big screen event!

With all the speculation before hand that Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristen Davis couldn’t turn the popular HBO series, SATC, into a success, obviously Cox sat on the sidelines to see whether it was a thumbs up or thumbs down at the box office and then retreated to plot her return as a Friend!

Poor little fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker has been lied to by gown designer Nina Ricci when she chose to wear the little wispy silver number for the premiere of Sex and the City in New York City last week.

The dress has had more than one outing in the past few months and Sarah isn’t happy about that!

The dress was first seen on Lindsay Lohan when she wore it in her Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot recently and Lauren Santo Domingo was seen strutting her stuff around the Met Ball in May wearing the exact same gown.

The long awaited big screen version of Sex and the City came to a theatre near you today, if you live in England. But in New York it was only shown to a select few thousand at The Radio City Music Hall, and then not everyone got in.

As London hosted the world premiere of the new Sex and the City movie in Leicester Square last night, all four of the movie’s stars were in attendance.

Kim Cattrall wore a bright red satin knee length, off the shoulder number by Vivien Westwood, which totally reflected the style of her character Samantha Jones, who for a woman now in her 5^th decade is still attempting to hold back the hands of time!
