In March this year the world said goodbye to Anthony Minghella, the British born academy award wining movie director, and now less than three months later Hollywood has lost yet another prolific movie director and actor, Sydney Pollack.

Veteran director, Sydney Pollack died on Sunday at his home in Los Angels after a battle with cancer. Attention had been drawn to his illness after he withdrew in August 2007 as the director of an HBO television movie for unspecified health reasons.

While Tom Cruise is busy with creepy Scientology official business and trying to get his fading blockbuster career back on track, his “wife” Katie has been busy tying tying a noose made of big budget flops and committing career suicide.

But she isn’t going to stop there - she’s going to take respectable actors down with her. Her new film Mad Money also starring the divine Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah was a mass disappointment earning a meager $7.7 million this weekend - hardly even paying the craft service fees on set.
