Friday saw the California Supreme Court ruling that the California Constitution now gives gays the lesbians the right to marry and who was there to pop the question first, Ellen DeGeneres. Yes, at the taping of her show she asked Portia de Rossi if she could have he hand in marriage. “Proper invites have not been sent out but instead guests have been given a save the date notice.” Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, who have been happily engaged since April, are allegedly tying-the-knot this coming Saturday at a “top secret” spot.

According to a source associated with the couple, the festivities will kick off on Friday with an “intimate affair” rehearsal dinner for “family and close friends only.” And on the big day all those who are planning to attend “…will be transported in shuttles to the wedding location.”

Joe Simpson aka Ashlee’s father & manager has once again come up with a scheme to derive $$$ from his youngest offspring.

Since her older sister’s reality show - Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica - was such a smash, the former Baptist minister is planning to cash in with a Pete Wentz/Ashlee version.

“He knows that no one cared about Jessica before her reality show, and he’s hoping a show for Ashlee will have the same effect,” a family friend revealed to OK! Magazine.

Once again another Hollywood starlet’s engagement has given rise to speculation of her impending motherhood.

Ashlee Simpson, who has been dating Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz since late 2006 and announced her engagement in early April 2008 and now US Weekly and OK! are delivering some pretty convincing reports that there is truth in the rumours.
