Oprah Winfrey’s mom, Vernita Lee, says she shouldn’t have to pay a bill of close to $156,000 that the high-end fashion store, Valentina says she owes. She’s claiming that the boutique shouldn’t have extended credit to her.
The company has sued, saying Lee fell behind in minimum monthly payments of $2,000.
Lee then filed a counterclaim contending that Valentina took advantage of her “lack of knowledge, ability, and-or capacity” when creating her credit account.
