A 40th birthday is a big milestone, a big celebration - and how much more so if the “birthday” is for your world-famous clothing line, the venue is New York Fashion Week, and the theme is “A Day at the Races?” But you would expect nothing less from fashion royalty, Ralph Lauren.

Lauren was marking not his 40th birthday (um, obviously …) but rather a special show for his line. It’s his 40th official year in fashion (designing under the Ralph Lauren label) and the 40th time his looks have been presented on the runway.
