I’ll be honest. I’ve seen the previews for Tropic Thunder, but I’m still not sure I really GET what it’s about. Actors get stuck in a jungle filming a movie, which turns into a real war? Anyway, weird plots and all, Hollywood turned out in full-force to celebrate the opening of the flick. Katie Holmes was there - she has a brief cameo appearance in the movie - and of course the stars - Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. - all showed up with their wives. Eva Longoria Parker’s wedding may be ancient history as far as fast-paced Hollywood is concerned, but on the red carpet this weekend she looked like she was trying to live it up for a bit longer. She made an appearance at the Cannes opening of “Kung Fu Panda” (I know, who knew that movie was Cannes-worthy?!) wearing a voluminous Versace gown that flared out into a huge tulle skirt followed by a long, flowing train worth of a bride.

Get this – Lindsay Lohan will soon be headlining a horror flick titled Manson Girls in which she portrays a wealthy, pill-popping aspiring bad girl who has a sweet tooth for dangerous men. Really pushing the envelope with that one, eh?

People.com reports that the starlet has been cast in the role of Nancy Pitman, a 16-year-old Malibu resident who left home to join Charles Manson’s infamous Family. Although she didn’t participate in the murder of actress Susan Tate, she did aid the serial killer in leaving counterfeit clues.
