While the devastated fans of Michael Jackson await the release of the movie depicting the final days of the Thriller star’s life, as he rehearsed for his doomed The Is It concerts at London’s O2 Arena, there’s another group of fans who’s wait has been longer and less publicized, and they are the very patient fans of the late Heath Ledger who last saw their idol in the 2008 Batman movie when he filled the role of The Joker.

Its been over a year now since the world lost one of the most accomplished actors to hit the big screen in many years, Heath Ledger, but for some, time just isn’t a healer.

Although actress Naomi Watts and Ledger ended their 2 year relationship in 2002, and Heath had moved on to share his life with Michelle Williams, Naomi never lost contact with the man who became her friend.

One year after her split with Australian born actor, Heath Ledger, and ten months after his death, his girlfriend Michelle Williams has taken the brave step of going public with her new relationship with indie director, Spike Jonze.

Michelle and Heath met on the set of Brokeback Mountain and together had one baby daughter, Matilda, in October 2005. But the relationship wasn’t to survive and the couple parted in September 2007.

Just four months later, Heath was found dead in his loft apartment in Manhattan.

The insurance company under which Heath Ledger held a life insurance policy is being sued for not paying $10 million in benefits to his daughter, claiming the actor may have committed suicide. Police ruled the death of the 28-year-old star was accidental, from an overdose of painkillers and other medicines.

But lawyers for the ReliaStar insurance company, have claimed his death was suspicious and possibly a suicide, which would nullify the policy.

Ledger’s daughter with actress Michelle Williams, Matilda Rose, 3, was named as the beneficiary in the policy.

In a recent poll, Heath Ledger’s Joker came out on top. His haunting portrayal of the classic villain in The Dark Night won 95 percent of votes in a poll by AOL’s MovieFone.com Web site.

And it’s no surprise that his character took top honors. The film itself has raked in $505 million across U.S and Canada so far, and also won every category in which it was nominated for the end of summer season poll, including best sequel, best superhero movie, best action sequence and “movie most worth your cash.”

Seems like Matilda and Michelle Williams are getting into a day-to-day routine - one that’s making both of them happier - since Heath Ledger’s death. Michelle has been spotted out with Spike Jonze and Matilda continues to be surrounded by the friends and family of her parents.
Not that moving on is ever easy, but it’s great to know Heath’s co-stars have the interest of his little girl at heart:  Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell, the actors who took over Heath’s role in his final movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,  will be donating all their profits to read more ....

Mary Kate Olsen had a close friendship with Heath Ledger just prior to his death in January this year. But so far she is the only one who has refused to give any assistance to the federal investigators from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency who are probing Heath’s accidental drug-related death.

Given that investigators found the two had communicated by phone only a short while before his death, it appears a little strange that Olsen has nothing to say on the matter, well at least not without first being given immunity from prosecution, which is her constitutional right.

It was always obvious that the Batman movies wouldn’t end with the passing of Heath Ledger but he certainly left a huge pair of shoes to be filled following his performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight, which has seen the movie topping the box office ratings for two consecutive weeks taking $314 million in just 10 days and now there is talk of it challenging Titanic to become the biggest movie of all time. Titanic took $600 million in the US. The Dark Knight certainly looks set to reach second place in the all-time chart and beat read more ....

An over-the-top Batman devotee was arrested this week for attempting to pinch unspecified movie memorabilia from the Three Rivers 6 theatre in Michigan while dressed as The Joker.
