Ben Stiller’s time at the Museum has come full circle, as he is this year’s honoree for the Museum of the Moving Image’s 24th annual black-tie salute.

The event is scheduled for November 12th in New York where Stiller’s colleagues, friends and family are expected to pay tribute and present clips from his film career.

We totally agree he deserves it, but it seems like a very serious honor for someone who’s made a living as a funny-man - especially given the hilarity factor in his most recent acting/directing foray: Tropic Thunder.

Tom Cruise and his gals hit up NYC this weekend, while Katie was rehearsing for her role in All My Sons. With her Broadway debut ahead, we’re certain to be seeing more of the family in the Big Apple.

On Friday, the couple  met up with Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor and their daughter Ella for dinner at Nobu, perhaps to enjoy some of the success of their latest movie, Tropic Thunder.

I’ll be honest. I’ve seen the previews for Tropic Thunder, but I’m still not sure I really GET what it’s about. Actors get stuck in a jungle filming a movie, which turns into a real war? Anyway, weird plots and all, Hollywood turned out in full-force to celebrate the opening of the flick. Katie Holmes was there - she has a brief cameo appearance in the movie - and of course the stars - Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. - all showed up with their wives. While Owen Wilson has requested privacy, the rest of the entertainment world is rushing to support the actor publicly.

“He’s loved,” Bernie Brillstein, a veteran Hollywood manager who worked with John Belushi and Chris Farley, said Tuesday (according to MSN). “It’s serious, but it’s a singular case. Anyone can have a bad day, a very bad day.”

According to the Associated Press, Hollywood insiders believe Owen “should continue to enjoy big-screen success.”

Wilson was reportedly doing well at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was taken from his Santa Monica home on Sunday night. Wilson was said to have read more ....
