Say It’s Not so………

The up and coming, long awaited Sex and the City movie was being filmed today in Manhattan. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) was seen in her fairly conventional ivory wedding gown, but, being Carrie, she had to give it that outrageous twist, so her head dress was a winding turquoise feather standing high above her head. She was, presumably, taking her vows with Mr Big at St Patrick’s Cathedral on 5^th Avenue.

Surrounded by her girlfriends, Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) Miranda Hobbs, (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York, (Kristin Davis) Carrie beamed with excitement at the thought of finally catching the ultimate commitment phobia, Mr Big (Chris Noth).

The leaks so far have furnished us with the ‘juicy’ news that Charlotte manages to get pregnant and has been sporting a rather large prosthetic ‘bump’ while filming but in the wedding photos it would appear the ‘bump’ had slipped its way round to her butt!

With major plot lines for the new Sex and the City movie being leaked by the media at the turn of every magazine page, web site and celebrity gossip show, can we really believe that these four friends will no longer sit at the best of Manhattan’s bars, cosmos in hand, and philosophize over deep meaningful questions such as “has monogamy become to much to expect?”, “in a relationship is honesty the best policy”, “can you really ever forgive if you can’t forget” or “can you get to the future if your past is still present?”

Surely not! We have come to expect better from these women who have shared with us their fears of aging, infertility, unrequited love and unwanted pregnancy. We expect their lives to reflect the real world of dating and not the world as seen by Hans Christian Anderson, where the Princess always gets her man and lives happily ever after.
