Pressly Hopes You Love J’aime

Posted under Free for All & Jaime Pressly & Carmen Electra

J’aime is coming.

Jaime Pressly is updating her fashion line - formerly called J’aime by Jaime Pressly, now renamed J’aime Collection (creative, we know). The knit-wear line has been around for the last two years, but - coming up later this month during LA Fashion Week (we’re still in the middle of Paris Fashion Week, if you’ve lost track) - Jaime is set for a style blow-out.

She’s broadening her horizons and including casual, career, and party styles, focusing her colors on navy, brown, rust red, paisley, and Indian ethnic. She told Women’s Wear Daily there at least 35-40 styles in the works.

According to her official Myspace page, “The collection, as always, was designed first and foremost to fit and flatter the body of every woman.” Says Pressly, “My goal is to design clothes that make women look and feel confident.”

Thanks girlfriend

Pressly enlisted Euro-designer Renee Bardot to help give form to Pressly’s ideas. The new collection is going to launch on October 15th, at an exclusive, invitation only event during LA Fashion week 2007 benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This new offspring will be made up of flowing dresses (What else? It is the Spring 2008 collection, and that’s the theme we’ve seen!) pants suits, short shorts, and girly tops that you can all mix and match to use J’aime to create your own special style.

According to her website, this new collection “broadens her traditionally simple knit line into a comprehensive ready-to-wear collection featuring an array of fabrics including washed linen, cotton voile, stretch cotton sateen, chiffon and eyelet.”

The original J’aime launched to a decent amount of acclaim - especially for a celeb line. The line consisted of sexy, fun, and most importantly comfortable designs made from the textile Modole, a cotton-spandex blend. Pieces were interchangeable back then, too. They had strong Chinese themes - which grabbed Pressly’s attention while while she was traveling there.

Of course, it probably didn’t hurt that early on, Jaime had models from America’s Next Top Model soliciting her clothes on the runway. Oh, and she also utilized a couple of Carmen Electra’s Bombshell Babies.

It’s been an interesting road for this Emmy award-winning star. The 28-year-old North Carolina native started working as a teen - seen in movies like Joe Dirt, Torque, Can’t Hardly Wait. She was also a model, working throughout the United States, Italy, and Japan. Now, she’s an actress/model/fashion designer.

Conveniently, “J’aime” translates to “I love” in French.

Her website, www.jaimeclothing.com explains, “The J’aime is a reflection of the strength and individuality each woman possesses. J’aime strongly believes in unconditional love, beginning with the love of one’s self.”
