Thoughtful and aware are not necessarily the first adjectives that come to mind when discussing Charlie Sheen, unless, apparently, you’re Holland Taylor (who plays his mother on Two and a Half Men.)

According to PEOPLE, the actress has a soft-spot for the former bad boy and insists that his once-sleazy reputation has gracefully matured. “He is the most gentlemanly actor I’ve ever worked with,” Holland said. “He lives a totally quiet life. He lives to see his two children. He is not at all the person he once was, and we should all be allowed to grow into who we are.” (Nicely put!)

She also commented on his unfathomable partial-custody rights, which I agree is ridiculous as well. “He has to use Denise’s nanny. There has to be a personal court-appointed official there when he’s there with his children. It’s years later. This is a ridiculous court ruling.” Well, thanks to Richards it probably won’t change.

What other colorful adjectives define Sheen’s parenting? In Holland’s words, “Loving, doting, fascinated, obsessed.” (Awww.)

Although we aren’t completely letting him off-the-hook (what with all the past partying and womanizing) we are seeing a much sweeter, more likeable side to Charlie these days.
