While the devastated fans of Michael Jackson await the release of the movie depicting the final days of the Thriller star’s life, as he rehearsed for his doomed The Is It concerts at London’s O2 Arena, there’s another group of fans who’s wait has been longer and less publicized, and they are the very patient fans of the late Heath Ledger who last saw their idol in the 2008 Batman movie when he filled the role of The Joker.

Similarly to Jackson, although Heath’s death was totally unexpected, he did leave the world a legacy in the form of his final movie, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which will hit movie screens on December 25th this year.

This week has seen the more ‘adult’ promotional poster for the movie being revealed showing a naked Lily Cole in a scene reminiscent of a drug induced trip or a sleep deprived brain experiencing a bad dream. Not the only poster released to promote the movie, in fact there are a total of twelve world wide, but by far the one incurring the most interest.

This whimsical movie is a modern-day fantasy adventure in which Dr. Parnassus, played by Christopher Plummer, has the extraordinary gift of inspiring the imaginations of others. But over the years, Parnassus’ magic has come at a price. For centuries he’s been gambling with the devil, who is coming to collect his prize, Parnassus’ precious daughter, played by model and actress Lily Cole, Valentina on her birthday.
With a star studded cast including Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Ledger there is little doubt that this will be the Christmas 2009 blockbuster.
