Posted under Free for All & Rihanna & Chris Brown

Even as he was reduced to picking up trash while serving out his 180 day community service sentence, Chris Brown still managed to put on a cocky swagger as he posed for the media.

It was reminiscent of the arrogant display we witnessed when Naomi Campbell was given community service following her court appearance for flinging her cell phone at her assistant and the bravado shown by British singer, Boy George as he cleaned the streets of Manhattan after pleading guilty in March 2006 to falsely reporting a burglary at his Manhattan apartment, where responding officers found cocaine.

But somehow this most resent display of overbearing self-worth seems far more objectionable as rapper Brown’s sentence has arisen from an assault on his ex girlfriend, Rihanna back in February.

In addition to the community labor, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation and one year of domestic-violence counseling, and he was ordered to stay away from Rihanna for five years.

But 20 year old Brown’s self-importance must surely have taken a huge knock this week when his usual hip hop attire was substituted for a bright orange safety suit and baseball hat as he toiled at the side of the road under the watchful eye, and gun, of a police officer.
