Just last month we saw the ‘quickie’ divorce of Amy Winehouse from her husband of 2 years, rushed themselves through the courts in a bid to break free from one another and now its Peter Andre and Katie Price’s turn to turn their separation into a more permanent state with a degree absolute!

With the two Celebrity Big Brother stars finally calling it quits on their 4 year marriage amid a turbulent few months which saw the couple blaming each other for the split. The pair will then have only six weeks to change their minds before a decree absolute is granted by the Family Division of the High Court in central London.

But it is unlikely that either 36 year old Andre or his Playboy model wife, Katie, formerly known as Jordan, will contest the decree following Price’s very public flaunting of her new love, cage fighter, 34 year old Alex Reid.

Both parties filed divorce papers which is an unusual situation and is known as ‘cross decrees’, and such cases only occur in about one out of every 400 divorces, usually reflecting the most acrimonious splits.

The pair entered into a pre-nuptial before they were married, but Peter could now contest this as they have since had two children together. The pair are believed to have already agreed a financial settlement and joint custody of their two children Junior, four, and Princess, two.

Price also has a son Harvey born in May 2002, who’s father is the Sunderland footballer, Dwight Yorke.
