More than two months after the death of The King of Pop, tonight in Glendale, California, friends and family of will gather for the final farewell to their the Gloved One, Michael Jackson.

As a full moon rose across the Californian night sky and row upon row of white chairs stretch out on the green at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, the seats were gradually filled by celebrities, family and the children of Jackson. Although she didn’t make it to the lavish memorial service back in July due to grief, Elizabeth Taylor found the strength to attend the final journey of her close friend, Michael.

Baseball legend Barry Bonds, Al Sharpton, Stevie Wonder and other many more celebrity mourners gathered outside the mausoleum where the King of Pop will be entombed.

A throng of news reporters, the media and overhead news helicopters amassed both outside and above the funeral area.

With the very visible appearance of a huge lighting fixture placed above the mourners, it is expected that although the Jackson family have said that Michael’s funeral would be a private, family affair, it now appears that the family intend to use any footage of the event in the upcoming documentary, ‘This Is It’ which the Jacksons will be putting together in the near future.

Jackson’s final resting place sees him in good company along with Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Sammy Davis Jr and W.C. Fields.

No fans will be allowed near the Thriller star’s tomb which is in an area of the mausoleum that displays “The Last Supper Window,” a life-size stained-glass re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci’s creation. Several 10-minute presentations about the window are held regularly 365 days a year, but most of the building is restricted.

Although it had been hoped by fans that their idol would be interned at his former home, Neverland, the go ahead was not granted by the Santa Maria County authorities who feared that the small town would become over run with visitors and fans all year round, in much the same way Elvis Presley’s Gracelands is visited.

According to court records, Michael wont be on his own in Forest Lawns for long as the family have reportedly bought another 12 burial spaces which will more than likely hold the bodies of any further Jacksons upon their deaths.

Jackson’s death on June 25th 2009 has been attributed to an overdose of drugs which it is rumored were administered by his personal physician, Doctor Conrad Murray and has been deemed a homicide. The investigation is still in process.
