Tyra Banks, Usher, Naomi Watts, and Jessica Alba lead this week’s celebrity couples’ news and gossip, which includes a good dose of hot hook-ups, the usual wedding and baby fever, and, of course, break-ups.
First, Tyra’s got a man! (Admit it, we know you’re either thinking, “Finally!” or “Seriously?”) The New York Daily News reports that the supermodel/talk-show hostess is dating tall (six-foot-three), handsome, and rich (a Wall Street investment banker) John Utendahl. Ms. Banks dating a banker? They’re made for each other—even though she doesn’t really need the money, considering she landed a spot on TV Guide’s recent list of highest-paid T.V. personalities (Tyra came in at $3.5 million, which is actually pretty pathetic in light of Oprah Winfrey’s $260 million). Things appear to be getting serious, as The Tyra Banks Shows is reportedly moving from L.A. to NYC. Hmmm, wonder why…
It seems that pop star Hilary Duff (who we’re much preferring these days over the likes of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton) has moved on from music to sports by landing herself a new boy toy: New York Islander’s center hockey player Mike Comrie. Duff previously dated rock group Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, who dumped her to chase after uber-skinny Nicole Richie and knock her up. Well, good riddance, Joel, Nicole’s all yours. Duff appears happy, according to TMZ, who spotted her and Comrie getting all cute ‘n cozy at Santa Monica’s Giorgio Baldi restaurant.
One not-so-cute hook-up rumor involves the forever-getting-herself-into-trouble Lindsay Lohan and…Criss Angel? A number of sources, including Us Weekly, spotted the pair together in mid-July holding hands and getting affectionate at a Las Vegas party, and rumors that the two are now an “item” are all over the place. Yeesh, what is Criss thinking? First, not only is Lindsay 21, a substance abuser, and getting into trouble with the law, but Criss is 39, still technically married, and dealing with a divorce scandal with his estranged wife and rumored ex-lover Cameron Diaz.
On to happier news: Congratulations to Naomi Watts, who gave birth to a baby boy, Alexander Pete, on July 25. Little Alexander was born in L.A. and weighed in just over eight pounds. Watts’ partner, Live Schreiber, is the proud father.
Of course, as we all know, in Hollywood there just isn’t enough “happy” couples’ news to keep us occupied…but the break-up of super-sexy actress Jessica Alba and her longtime boyfriend, movie producer Cash Warren, is sure to put smiles on guys’ faces the world over (not that any random Joe would have a chance with her, though).
The Fantastic Four actress reportedly called it quits with Warren, whom she’d been dating for two and a half years, over the phone with a simple “I don’t love you anymore” (Ouch!) and promptly sent an assistant to move him out of their shared L.A. home. Sources told Us Weekly that the split happened “almost out of nowhere,” that Cash thinks “another guy [could be] involved,” and that it was “all her.”
But guys, don’t hold your breath: the newly single hottie may be single for awhile. Alba, who’s just 26, has previously complained about how difficult it is to be in a relationship and be a successful actress simultaneously. (No, really? We had no idea!)
We’ll end this off with some divorce news—and no, it’s not about Anne Heche and her bordering-on-insane divorce troubles with Coley Laffoon. Sources from the U.K. are reporting that ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and estranged wife Heather Mills may have actually (and finally) reached a divorce settlement. Mills will reportedly be receiving a staggering $144 million; that’s close to what Oprah makes, and just for getting divorced! Not too shabby. Further, Mills is set to receive more than $7 million each year until Beatrice, the ex-couple’s four-year-old little girl, turns 18.
