Thank goodness for Paris Hilton! We bet no one would have ever thought a blogger would say anything as radical as that! But as we’re all Michael Jackson’ed out, isn’t it great to hear the name Paris Hilton?

Although, for Paris herself it may not be such good news to be hitting the headlines again as she heads to court this week to answer a $8million lawsuit. Paris is being sued by the investors in her 2006 movie Pledge This, because apparently, for once Paris showed some good taste and realized the movie was a heap of trash and refused to make promotional appearances for it, despite a contract requiring her to do so.

The Hilton heiress traveled to Miami from Dubai for the trial where she arrived looking more as if she was making an appearance at New York fashion week with a black and white dress with a large bow on the back, teamed with super high heels, and, by the looks of it, pulling her own court documents behind her!
Once inside the courtroom, Paris sat quietly at the defense table twiddling with her blonde ponytails as much to say, ‘oh fiddly Dee, cant I think about this tomorrow?’
The lawsuit is being heard by Chief U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno, who has a well known sense of humor. Moreno at one point asked West, the attorney for the investors, whether the contract signed by Paris allowed her to refuse even the most outrageous promotion requests.
‘If you said, “She has to parade nude down the Champs-Elysees with a Pledge This! banner”… and she said no, would that be breach of contract?’ Moreno asked.
Then, answering his own question, he added: ‘No, of course not.’
The lawsuit was filed by attorney Michael Goldberg, a court-appointed receiver for a now-defunct Miami company that was the movie’s key investor. That company was shut down as a $300 million Ponzi scheme by the Securities and Exchange Commission, with its operator now living in Brazil.

The movie, which is based around the antics of a fictional sorority at the fictional South Beach University, paid Hilton a cool $1 million to act in the lead role, yet the movie only made about $2.9 million and appeared on just 25 theater screens.
Maybe it’s the scriptwriters who should be in the dock for creating such a ridiculous storyline, and that guy living the high life in Brazil…….what about getting him back too?
We’re with Paris on this one…..finally she’s showing some taste, both in movies………….and attorneys! Very nice!
