While celebrity couples around the globe spend their days plotting and planning their break ups, their revenge and finally their divorces, there was one couple who would have given everything they had ever owned to turn back the clock to the days when they too fought and split amid animosity and spite. But today that couple, Farrah Fawcett and Ryan Oneal no longer have that luxury as the former Charlie’s Angel beauty lost her 3 year battle with cancer.

Farrah, who’s life has been cut short at the age of just 62 first met, and fell in love with the handsome young Love Story star, Ryan in 1980. Although the two never became more than ‘partners’ they did have one son together, 24 year old Redmond, who, during the grueling final months of his mother’s life has been in rehab due to previous drug convictions.
Farrah first found fame as a model in the 1970’s, when the now iconic poster of the curvy big haired blonde in the orange swimsuit, became a ‘must have‘ on every young man‘s bedroom wall from London to Sydney.

The poster so inspired TV producer, Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg to put their creative heads together which resulted in the birth of the 1980’s series, Charlie’s Angels, which resulted in a massive success as they showcased their latest star find!

Just last week 68 year old ONeal spoke with Barbara Walters on her TV show 20/20 during an interview that saw Ryan reduced to tears as he revealed how he had asked Farrah to marry him as soon as she was well enough to say ‘yes’. “As soon as she can say yes,” he said. “Maybe we can just nod her head.”

Just last May, in an interview with Meredith Vieira, O’Neal told NBC News that he had fallen even more in love with Fawcett since she began her battle with cancer saying, “I know this, that in the last two years I loved her more than I’ve ever loved her, she’s so much more of a woman . . . powerful, courageous, fearless and all those adjectives. And I look at her with awe.”

During the past week news reports were indicating that family and friends had begun to arrive at Farrah’s bedside to say their last goodbyes as the pin-up icon fights off anal cancer.
Being a lifelong devout catholic had also inspired Farrah to seek the comfort of her priest during her final days.
