Even under a grey cloudy sky and amidst all the doom and gloom being brought about by the misadministration of Great Britain by Gordon Brown’s Labour party, the people of the United Kingdom were seen today to be united as one proud nation as they turned out to celebrate the 83rd birthday of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II.

Thousands of well wishers gathered outside Buckingham Palace and at the Trooping the Colour parade, which was accompanied by all the usual pomp and ceremony of any royal event as monumental as the mile stone birthday of the UK’s third longest serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth, since she took the throne in 1952.

The Monarch took the royal salute during the military spectacle, watched by other members of the royal family, Prince Philip, Prince Edward, Prince William, Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Harry on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The Queen traveled in Queen Victoria’s 1842 ivory mounted phaeton carriage and behind her on horseback, and wearing ceremonial military uniform, were Charles, who is Colonel of the Welsh Guards, Anne, Colonel Blues and Royals, and the Duke of Kent, Colonel Scots Guards.

The queen’s real birth date is April 21, when she turned 83 but every year the Brits, and the world are treated to the spectacular event of Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday.
