We may have been deprived of our favourtite series, Sex and the City, since 2005, and we may be on tender hooks waiting for the sequel to the movie of the same name, but there’s one member of the cast who is still getting her ‘sex in the city‘ and she‘s being very vocal and public about it too!

Cynthia Nixon, aka, Miranda Hobbes, announced in Manhattan this weekend that she and girlfriend Christine Marinoni were getting engaged and what better place to share the news than at the Action Marriage Equality rally.

The blonde actress has been dating Marinoni since 2003 was clearly wearing the  diamond engagement ring given to her by her, soon to be wife, as she spoke out in defense of gay marriage in New York.

With gay civil partnerships are only legal in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa and Maine, Miss Nixon was bringing her support to the cause as New York considers joining the other four states in legalizing same sex marriages.

The couple were supported by Cynthia’s co star from SATC, Kristin Davis, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Frasier star David Hyde Pierce and Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz.
