Action replay!

Just two months ago the world was subjected to the very public demise of England’s ‘accidental’ celebrity, Jade Goody as she shared with the nation, and the world, her road to death from cervical cancer and her last minute marriage to boyfriend Jack Tweed, on screen!

Now, we’re about to be bombarded once again with the painful death of former Charlie’s Angel star, Farrah Fawcett, 62, as her documentary on her battle with cancer hit’s the airways.

Just last August in an interview with a USA celebrity publication, Miss Fawcett was screaming the odds about how the media had made the final couple of years of her life hell with their intrusion, curiosity and their thirst for ghoulish stories that might just sell their publications.

But when it comes to releasing her own documentary, the goal posts are suddenly moved. The documentary, Farrah’s Story, contains intimate scenes of Farrah’s fight against cancer and show her journey over the last 18 months in her battle against terminal cancer.

Another similarity between Jade and Farrah’s story seems to be the decision to marry their partner’s within the last few days of their lives. In an interview with a US celebrity news show, Farrah’s long time partner, Love Story star, Ryan ONeal was asked if he wanted to wed his long-term partner, to which he replied, ‘I would do that. She’s still a little bit hesitant. I’m working though, I’m working. But he said she was still reluctant because of their previous relationships. You know, she’s been married, I’ve been married. ONeal added that Farrah told him, “We have a good thing.” To which he replied,  “You said that 30 years ago, shouldn’t there be a sea change?” Maybe there is, you never know.’

Within days of Jade‘s death, her new husband, Tweed, was found guilty of assault and imprisoned in the UK for 12 weeks. In Farrah’s case, it is her son with Ryan, Redmond ONeal,24, who is currently incarcerated in a California prison where he has been since early April awaiting trial for possession of narcotics, and now appears to be facing his mother’s death with out a final visit.

The NBC 90-minute documentary, Farrah’s Story, which is due to be screened in the U.S. on Friday.

I am a survivor of cancer, 3 years out, and was truly impressed with Farrah’s journey, to me it was about hope, life and appreciation of the small things we take for granted such as the rain and snow.
