Never far from the glare of the pap’s themselves, Nick Lachey and his current squeeze, Vanessa Minnillo have weighed-in on the side of Donald Trump in his decision to restore the crown and sash of Miss California to Carrie Prejean.

Lachey, the former husband of Jessica Simpson had his share of media attention during his short marriage and consequent divorce from the country singer back in 2005, when he appeared in the reality show featuring the newly weds, entitled, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.

In her very public life, Miss Minnillo has also attracted the attention on the tabloids and gossip blogs with her own romantic liaisons with Derek Jeter, shortstop star and Captain of the New York Yankees and most recently Nick.

So together they have both decided to back the beautiful blonde who was it is believed was robbed of the Miss America crown after ‘wrongly’ answering a question on same sex marriage posed to her by scandal loving blogger, Perez Hilton.

Along with her ‘wrong’ answer, stating marriage should be between and man and woman, photos, considered a ’non starter’ for any Miss America, also mysteriously surfaced on the web showing Carrie in several topless poses. But all things considered, the bad publicity has certainly served as good publicity for the beauty queen with celebs such as Lachey, Trump and Minnillo coming out in her support!

When asked about the topless photos that caused such a stir when they were released, Lachey’s reply, “And she takes good pictures!”
