For various reasons over the years, Madonna has alienated a large proportion of her original fan base, with broken marriages, a sex book, bad behaviour and sullen remarks to the media all of which have now evidently made it open season on the Material Girl.

However, when she arrived at the Marc Jacob’s MET Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Ball with her 22 year old male friend, Jesus Luz, wearing a somewhat unusual outfit by Louis Vuitton, it was just for that reason, it was after all, for a ‘ball’.

Arriving in blue jeans and T shirt would not have fitted the title of the function. So, Madonna decided to wear, albeit, a strange outfit, an outfit in keeping with the occasion. And accompanied by the man who is 28 years her junior also supplied plenty of fodder for the media.

All in all, this was of course bound to attract the paps, and in particular the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper, who in their front page article pose the question, ‘Is that really a suitable dress for someone trying to win an adoption case Madonna?’

She’s at a ball, a bash, a function, a party! Not at a court hearing!
