Late last year and earlier this year we were being bombarded with news that the Sex and the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick were nearing the end of their marriage following his infidelity and photos emerged which clearly showed the stress of a faltering marriage written across both their faces.

Now, in what seems to be a complete turn around of events the New York based couple have announced that they are expecting twin girls, via a surrogate!

Sarah, 44, has a 6 year old son James with her husband of 12 years, Broderick, who is 47 and lists among his acting successes, the Broadway musical, The Producers and Glory.

With a storyline more fitting of Sarah’s character, writer Carrie Bradshaw, in Sex and the City, consisting of an extra marital affair, a surrogate pregnancy and a high profile celebrity couple, one cant help wondering if there might just be another twist to this story that will leave we onlookers with a cliff edge ending?

Last year Broderick met a 25 year old woman in New York and began a relationship with her, while Sarah was otherwise occupied wiht her movie of the HBO series, SATC, and Matthew reportedly told the woman his 11-year marriage was ‘not good’.  After the news broke Parker and Broderick were reported to be trying to save their marriage for the sake of their son, James Wilkie and a source said that the, then 43-year-old actress had told a friend she and Broderick, ‘had been out of love for a long time but remain married for their son’.

So with any information relating to the surrogate, being as yet unavailable, it does bring up the question, could the surrogate be the lady with whom Broderick had a dalliance last year?
