Time and tide waits for no man and neither do the wrinkles, the jowls and the flab on the aging and well lived in face of 53 year old Mickey Rourke. As he stands next to his co star of 2 decades back, Kim Basinger, it brings a whole new aspect to the theory that men age better than women.

Yes, Rourke has had his battles with personal demons which have left him bereft of his 1980’s good looks and physique but for her part Kim has also been well and truly put through the minser with disasterous marriages, bankruptcy and bad movie roles, but she still manages to out shine her new co star despite her three year senior rating.

Looking as though his fashion sense still remained back in the 1980’s, Rourke stood with his arm around Basinger as they met in Los Angeles. The couple have teamed up again, after more than 20 years when they brought hot and steamy to a new level in cinemas around the globe in the 1986 movie, 9 ½ Weeks, and this time their characters are given just one week to bring to life the exploits of the ‘top and the bottom’ of Hollywood society in the movie The Informers. It follows seven characters, from movie executives and rock stars to a voyeuristic doorman and an ex-con, over the course of a week and sees the two veteran actors starring alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Winona Ryder.

With the tagline, Greed is good. Sex is easy. Youth is forever, the movie is set in 1983 and once again will have movie goers cringing with the sexual exploits of a Hollywood dream merchant, a dissolute rock star, an aging newscaster. With Kim‘s character Laura and Mickey‘s role as Peter connecting the intertwining strands of a group of beautiful, blonde young men and women who sleep all day and party all night, doing drugs, have sex with abandon not realizing that they are dancing on the edge of a volcano, the movie promises to have an unhealthy dose of rape, drug use and general depravity.
