Just days after being refused the adoption of a child from Malawi, 3 year old Grace, Madonna has smoothed over her emotional distress with a shopping spree like none other, and bought herself a $40 million mansion on Manhattan’s upper East Side.

Since her divorce from husband of 7 years, Guy Ritchie late last year, the Material Girl has moved her living to New York but clearly wants the appearance of her London home, even in Manhattan, where she has bought a home that is almost a replica of her home London.

The 50-year-old singer’s four-storey, 13-bedroom home with 3,000 sq-ft garden is set to be home to daughter Lourdes and sons David and Rocco, the three children Madonna has managed to keep hold of since divorcing Ritchie.
