Everything’s fine, honest!

Remember back in January when JLo’s marriage to Marc Anthony was reportedly ‘on the rocks’, so the two kissed and made up (though they’ve been pretty MIA lately) mere days after tales of infidelity, loneliness and power trips hit the Web? Notice how fast those sordid little rumors died out - whether or not they held truth, or still do?

Well this past Thursday Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz found themselves at the center of fire, following a story by the Chicago Sun-Times which declared that the lovers were on the brink of disaster.

“Ashlee is feeling a bit neglected [by Pete] in recent weeks. … Pete does seem kind of bored lately, and he doesn’t talk about Ashlee like he used to,” a friend passed on to the paper. “The gushing has stopped.”

That very same day a second source came forth with a not so tasty tidbit. “Ashlee and Pete are on the rocks,” the insider informed Page Six. “He is going out all the time and she’s stuck at home. It’s just not working.”

Taking a cue from Marc & JLo, Ashlee and Pete locked lips on Friday (yes just one day after the rumors started!) at the MTV Australia Awards in Sydney. Smiling for the cameras and putting on their best ‘tis-all-good-ya’ll kissy kissy act, now WHO does that sound like?
