Jennifer Aniston may not have been an Oscar winner on the red carpet at the 2009 Academy Awards this Sunday night, but she was a winner with boyfriend, 31 year old musician, John Mayer as they arrived together at the ceremony, which definitely secured their image as a happy couple.

Jennifer, 40, wearing a beautiful simple cream, sequined column style Valentino gown, spent 10 minutes on stage in a humorous presentation for the Best Animated Feature with actor Jack Black, but soon found her way back to sit comfortably by the side of her new love where she truly glowed in comparison to the now mother of 6, and drably black dressed Jolie.

In her usual studied manner, Jolie was obviously aware that the camera would pan in her direction and she was sitting with a beaming smile on her face, looking at Jennifer with what could have been viewed as an admiring smile, but more than likely it was just a smile that said, ‘go on, screw up!’ But Aniston, being cool and professional was not going to give her advisory the pleasure and did a damn fine job of her presentation.

Hopefully Jen and John were making the statement that their relationship is as strong as ever by appearing together at this years Oscars and maybe the engagement at the Oscars will lead to an engagement of a very different kind in the near future!
