Its been over a year now since the world lost one of the most accomplished actors to hit the big screen in many years, Heath Ledger, but for some, time just isn’t a healer.

Although actress Naomi Watts and Ledger ended their 2 year relationship in 2002, and Heath had moved on to share his life with Michelle Williams, Naomi never lost contact with the man who became her friend.

In an interview with Parade magazine, Naomi spoke of her sadness at the loss of her friend saying, ‘”I hadn’t really been that familiar with his work and then, when I got to the set and did that first scene with him, I was like, ‘Wow! This guy is alive.’

“It was just something deep in his eyes. You could look into them, and they would tell a thousand stories in one glance. There was a wonderful mixture of power and fragility at work in everything he did, which just pulls you in. His strength didn’t scare you. It intrigued you.”

English born Naomi, 40, is now dating 41 year old Scream actor Liev Schreiber.

Heath was recently remembered by his fellow actors as he posthumously received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in his role as The Joker in last year’s Batman movie, at this years awards in January.
