It could be the economy, it could be the long winter but the speculation is, that the down in the dumps look on Lindsay Lohan’s face is brought about by her seemingly flagging relationship with girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Even on a night out with friends in Hollywood, the Georgia Rule star could hardly manage to turn up the corners of her mouth in an effort to mimic a smile. The venue for Lindsay’s night out was the Apple Lounge in West Hollywood, but even in one of tinsel town’s hot spots, Lohan couldn’t show any emotion.

A source said: “She was hanging out in a cabana with owner Allison Melnick and two girlfriends, no Samantha in sight. She seemed kind of indifferent, emotionless. It was definitely apparent her friends were trying to cheer her up. It looked to be a ‘first night back out on the town’ sort of thing.”

It appears to be a bug both Sam and Lindsay have caught, as 30 year old Sam was also spotted walking around Hollywood looking equally as down at heel as her girlfriend, Lohan.

Confronted with the speculation that their relationship is over following a huge row on New Year’s Eve, 22 year old Lohan has denied that that is the case saying, “We didn’t break up. No. People need to stop creating drama, it’s gross.”
