Posted under Free for All & Kathy Griffin & Anderson Cooper & Gloria Vanderbilt
It’s that that time of year again when CNN’s main man, Anderson Cooper climbs the scaffolding in Times Square, in much the same way Anne Boleyn scaled her final climb to meet her certain death. But, although year after year, Anderson appears with the brash, loud mouthed, obnoxious Kathy Griffin, so far his position on the scaffolding hasn’t resulted in his death either as a celebrity or as a first class reporter.
Try as hard as Griffin might, she just cant get the better of the far more intelligent and out witting Cooper who meets her deriding remarks and insults with such grace and total annihilation. For the CNN anchorman who has ducked bullets, donned flack jackets in the middle of terrorist battles and withstood the hurricane force winds of Katrina, Griffin presents a weak front for Anderson to fight off!
It may appear on the surface that Anderson is falling for Griffin’s schtick, but behind it, he still maintains all the sophistication expected from the son of socialite and designer Gloria Vanderbilt.
Still, Anderson needs to remain on guard against this verbal terrorist as she has a tendency to butter up her pray and then make her attack when least expected.
Anderson will be ringing in the New Year in Times Square live on CNN.
