There’s a recession hitting the entire world and now here’s the biggest recession of all….the recession of Mel B’s hips.Previously known for her somewhat voluptuous body, which normally bares a resemblance to Playboy model, Vida Guerra, the former Spice Girl has now become the face, or hips, of the Ultimo lingerie ad campaign and has also become the latest victim of airbrushing.

The 33 year old mother of two, Melanie Brown, now appears to have lost her hips and that just doesn’t look right with her otherwise well proportioned figure. But Mel herself probably wont be screaming about it to the same extent as Kate Winslet recently did, as she is set to make £500,000 during her contract with the lingerie company.

When Kate posed for Vogue magazine earlier this year, she was the target of suspicious readers who didn’t believe The Reader star actually had lost her hips. Kate denied the airbrushing allegations, as she has always done throughout her public life.

For Scary Spice, taking over from the Girls Aloud band member, Sarah Harding, as the face and hips of Ultimo, has obviously raised interest in her body parts as she is now considering a £1 million offer to pose for Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine.

Mel wont be the first Spice Girl to pose for Playboy magazine, Geri Halliwell appeared on the cover of the men’s magazine in May 1998.
