Jessica Simpson’s Second-Rate Setback

Posted under Free for All & Jessica Simpson

Despite the fact that Jessica Simpson’s latest acting gig Major Movie Star was No. 1 in Russia earlier this month, American fans will have to wait ‘til February to see the “Come On Over” crooner in all her patriotic glory.

The film, soon to be renamed Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous for its U.S. release, centers around a ditzy starlet who enlists in the army to  make enough bank to pay off her bills … stop laughing I’m serious.

And roughly two weeks before Valentine’s Day, the major FLOP will be hitting shelves - that’s right, shelves - rather than multiplexes.

Straight to DVD, geez what a slap in the face.

Fox News reports that the flick will go on to premiere in Bulgaria as planned come December, however a release date will not be issued “…in any country in which English is the primary language.” Ouch!

Simpson’s mouthpiece has no comment at this time, but really, what can you say when your client’s previous picture - Blonde Ambition - earned just $1,300 and could be found at Blockbuster after showing in only eight Texas theatres? And now this?
