Having been a member one of the biggest girl bands of all times, The Spice Girls, Melanie C is now joining the ‘baby band‘.

As the only Spice Girl to date not to have reproduced, Melanie Chisholm has now announced that she will add her own spice baby to the list of spice spawning.

Also know as Sporty Spice, Mel, 34, and her partner of six years, Thomas Starr, are said to be “delighted” with the news, which obviously has come as much of a surprise to her as to the waiting world, as only two weeks ago when questioned on her baby plans she told the press, “Everybody asks whether I’m going to be next or whether I’m trying. I hate to disappoint people, but the answer is ‘no’.”

Mel now completes the full set of Spice Girls with babies with Melanie Brown having two daughters, Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has three sons with soccer’s glamour boy David Beckham and Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton each have one child.
